Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated · 6 June 2026
FuelSync is a regulated commercial marketplace for diesel, petroleum products and related logistics across Southern Africa. This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) sets the minimum standards of conduct for every account on the platform — buyers, suppliers, brokers, runners, drivers, logistics operators and administrators. Breaching this AUP may result in immediate suspension, removal of listings, forfeiture of wallet balances pending investigation, and reporting to SARS, SAPS, the South African Petroleum Industry Association (SAPIA), or the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE).
1. Eligibility & lawful use
You must be at least 18 years old, legally able to enter binding contracts in your jurisdiction, and (for commercial buyers and suppliers) operate a registered business entity with a valid VAT or tax number where required.
Fuel suppliers must hold the licences required by the Petroleum Products Act (Act 120 of 1977) and the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) — including wholesale, retail or site licences as applicable.
Transporters must hold valid Operating Licences, dangerous-goods (DG) permits, ADR-equivalent driver certificates and SANS 10231 / SANS 10089 compliant equipment.
2. Prohibited products & activities
You may not list, transact, transport or facilitate the sale of:
- Illuminating paraffin sold as automotive diesel, or any blended product misrepresented as a different grade.
- Rebated / dyed diesel sold to non-qualifying end-users in breach of the Customs and Excise Act.
- Fuel of unknown origin, stolen fuel, or product diverted from bonded storage.
- Adulterated product (e.g. diesel cut with paraffin, used motor oil, or solvents).
- Any petroleum product subject to international sanctions, including products of Russian, Iranian or North Korean origin where prohibited by the buyer's jurisdiction.
You may not use FuelSync to launder funds, evade tax, fix prices with competing suppliers, rig tenders, or coordinate refusals to deal.
3. Honest listings & quotes
Suppliers must list real, available stock at a real, deliverable price. Bait pricing, ghost depots, fake ETAs and undisclosed surcharges are grounds for delisting and a permanent Trust Score penalty.
Buyers must submit genuine demand. Posting RFQs to harvest supplier pricing with no intent to transact is a breach of this AUP.
All quantities, specifications (50ppm, 500ppm, IP, LPG kg, etc.), delivery windows and payment terms displayed on FuelSync are deemed binding commercial offers under the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA).
4. Account integrity
One legal entity, one primary account. Do not create duplicate accounts to manipulate Trust Score, Buyer Score, group-buys, referrals or onboarding incentives.
Do not share login credentials. Each human user must have their own seat under your organisation.
Do not impersonate another supplier, depot, refinery, OEM, government agency or FuelSync staff member.
5. Platform & technical conduct
Do not scrape, crawl, mirror, reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our pricing engine, AI models, supplier database, or order book.
Do not probe, scan or test the vulnerability of FuelSync infrastructure without prior written authorisation from security@fuelsync.africa.
Do not upload malware, run automated bots against our APIs in excess of published rate limits, or interfere with WhatsApp, SMS, email or webhook delivery for other users.
6. Communications & content
All messaging through FuelSync inbox, WhatsApp pricing channels, SMS and email must be commercially relevant. Spam, harassment, hate speech, discriminatory language and threats are prohibited.
POPIA applies: do not share third-party personal information (ID numbers, banking details, contact lists) without a lawful basis.
7. Reporting violations
Report suspected fraud, adulteration, theft, sanctions evasion or AUP breaches to abuse@fuelsync.africa. We investigate every report and, where warranted, escalate to SAPS, SARS Customs, the DMRE and the relevant provincial fuel regulator.
8. Consequences
Depending on severity, breach of this AUP may result in: warning, suspension of listings or buying privileges, removal of verified status, forfeiture of pending earnings or rebates pending investigation, permanent ban, and civil or criminal referral.
FuelSync's enforcement decisions are final, subject to the dispute process set out in our Terms of Service.
