Frequently asked questions

The essentials on how FuelSync works. Can't find your answer? Email hello@fuelsync.africa.

What is FuelSync?

FuelSync is a South African fuel marketplace and operations platform. It connects verified suppliers, transporters, brokers and buyers, and handles price discovery, ordering, payment escrow, proof of delivery and dispute resolution in one place.

Who can use FuelSync?

Businesses that buy fuel in volume (construction, mining, logistics, agriculture, hospitality), licensed fuel suppliers, transporters, brokers, and individual drivers or runners. Every commercial account is verified before trading features are switched on.

How much does it cost?

Buyer-side use of the marketplace is free. Suppliers, brokers, runners and logistics partners pay subscription and per-transaction fees as published on the Pricing page. Fees are exclusive of VAT.

How do payments work?

Buyers fund orders through our licensed payment partners (including Ozow and Paystack). Funds are held in a segregated escrow account and are only released to the supplier once proof of delivery is accepted. Wallet balances are not deposits and do not earn interest.

Is my money safe?

Yes. Buyer funds sit in escrow until you accept delivery. If a delivery fails or is disputed, the escrowed funds are handled under our Returns & Refunds policy — you never pay for fuel you didn't receive.

How does delivery work?

Once an order is confirmed, the supplier or an assigned transporter delivers to your site. The driver captures proof of delivery (photos, signatures, volumes) in the app, and you confirm receipt before funds are released.

What if there's a problem with my order?

Raise a dispute from the order page within the window described in our Returns & Refunds policy. We freeze the escrowed funds while the dispute is investigated and resolved.

How do I become a verified supplier?

Register on the supplier page, submit your business registration, tax status, licences and bank details, and our team reviews your application. Verified suppliers can list inventory, receive orders and get paid through the platform.

Can I manage a fleet or company account?

Yes. Company accounts let you register vehicles, invite drivers, set per-vehicle fuel limits, and approve or suspend fuel requests centrally from the buyer dashboard.

How do I contact support?
